Sequential Air Sampler - Partisol-Plus Model 2025 |
||||
|
The Partisol-Plus Sequential Air Sampler is a multi-filter sampler (up to 16 filters) that performs automatic exchanges according to a user-defined sampling schedule The device is also available in a dichotomous configuration for sampling the fine and coarse particles in PM-10, and a split flow configuration for PM-2.5. ![]() Applications The Partisol-Plus Sequential Air Sampler is intended for applications requiring the sampling of ambient particulate matter on a frequent basis. It can be fitted with inlets to sample PM-10, PM-2.5, PM-1 or TSP (total suspended particulate matter). Technology The Partisol-Plus Sequential Air Sampler contains a filter exchange mechanism that has proven reliable under extreme meteorological conditions. The device contains the other distinctive flow control and user interface features found in the other members of the Partisol Family of Air Samplers. Additionally, users can choose to configure the sampler with an optional modem or optional wind vane/anemometer for conditional air sampling. Regulatory Status The Partisol-Plus Model 2025 Sequential Air Sampler has the USEPA PM-2.5 reference method designation RFPS-0498-118, and the USEPA PM-10 reference designation RFPS-1298-127. When the Very Sharp Cut Cyclone (VSCC) Inlet is used in place of the WINS impactor, the Partisol-Plus has the USEPA PM-2.5 FEM Manual Equivalent Method EQPM-0202-145Details The Partisol-Plus Model 2025 Sequential Air Sampler from Rupprecht & Patashnick (R&P) is a flexible manual sampling platform for suspended particulate matter. It is an automated sampling device that collects size-selected particulate matter on filters for later weighing or analysis. Its 16-filter sequential collection feature allows for unattended operation for up to two weeks between site visits. The Partisol-Plus Sampler is designed to meet the following particulate sampling standards: • USEPA PM-2.5 Reference Method (RFPS-0498-118). • USEPA PM-10 Reference Method (RFPS-1298-127). • European Norm 12341 for PM-10. • Proposed European Directives for the speciation of particulate matter (heavy metals, particulate carbon, etc.) The device is also available in dual-flow configurations to perform the following types of sequential sampling: • Dichotomous splitting of a PM-10 sample stream • 50/50 splitting of a PM-2.5 sample stream The sampler design and operation is based upon the original Partisol Air Sampler, which received the USEPA reference designation for PM-10 measurements in June 1994. The Partisol-Plus Sampler has been tested successfully at extremes in temperature down to -30 C, and can be operated at even lower temperatures with minor modifications. It is USEPA designated for PM-2.5 and PM-10 reference sampling method, and is manufactured in R&P ISO 9001-certified facility. Many of the features required by the USEPA in the PM-2.5 reference sampling method were first incorporated in a USEPA-certified reference sampler in R&P original Partisol Sampler. These include the following: • Sample flow rate of 1 m³/h (16.7 l/min) through a single 47 mm filter. • Standard 47 mm filters with convenient filter exchange mechanism. • Full microprocessor control and data handling (interval and filter data). • Automatic volumetric flow control (low volume). • Straightforward audit procedures. Features • USEPA designated for PM-2.5 and PM-10 reference method sampling (RFPS-0498-118 and RFPS-1298-127, respectively). Meets European Union PM-10 sampling requirements in accordance with EN12341. • Flexible sequential manual sampling platform for PM-10, PM-2.5, PM-1 or TSP (total suspended particulate matter). • Innovative sequential filter exchange mechanism consists of 16-filter cassette supply and storage magazines. • Sequential filter exchange allows up to 16 samples to be collected automatically (above): • Reliable, pneumatically-actuated filter exchange mechanism • Exchange of cassette magazines while sampling • Exchangeable filter cassette magazines minimize in-field filter handling and reduce risk of filter contamination. • Optional filter cassette separators to eliminate passive volatilization losses or cross-contamination for speciation applications. • Filters contained in cassettes are located in a sealed magazine when not in the sampling position. • Available in a number of system configurations: • Basic single flow path system for sequential collection of particulate matter. The straight-path configuration of the basic system allows for the collection of PM-10, PM-2.5, PM-1 or TSP. • Optional dual flow system for sequential dichotomous sampling of PM-10 (fine and coarse), or sequential 50/50 sampling of PM-2.5 for speciation. • Sealed top opens to provide access to the WINS Impactor and other flow path components (right). • Manufactured and supported by Rupprecht & Patashnick, an ISO 9001 company. • ActiVol flow control using a pressure and temperature compensated mass flow controller and proven AC vacuum pump. • Built-in software support for multi-point flow rate calibration using the innovative Streamline FTS flow transfer standard or volumetric flow meters. • Advanced data input capabilities: • Always measures and stores ambient temperature, pressure and relative humidity. • Built-in connector for wind speed and direction from an optional wind vane/anemometer. • Three 0-5 VDC analog inputs for data from other sources translated into engineering units. • Extensive, high-capacity data logging capabilities: • Interval data stores ambient temperature and pressure, filter temperature and average flow rate every five minutes. • Filter data stores filter-related data of the sample collection and meteorological conditions every time a new filter is used. • Input data stores meteorological and input data averages every thirty minutes. # Menu-driven user interface provides powerful capabilities and promotes ease of use. # Bi-directional communication with palmtop computer for simple data retrieval and in-field review (photo above). |
