Complies with requirements of the NAAQS for Particualte Matter (40 CFR Part 50). The goal of the PM2.5 monitoring program is to provide ambient data that support the nation's air quality programs, including both mass measurements and chemically resolved, or speciated data. Data from this program will be used for PM2.5 NAAQS comparisions, development and tracking of implementation plans, assessments for regional haze, and assistance for studies of health effects, and other ambient aerosol research activities. ![]() RAAS 2.5 Samplers (Reference Ambient Air Samplers) are Federal Reference Method Samplers specifically designed to comply with requirements of the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) for Particualte Matter (40 CFR Part 50). • The new fine particulate standard requires a fixed flow rate sampler, operating at 16.67 liters/minute (one cubic meter per hour), using a specified inlet, tubing, secondary size selective impactor, and filter holder. • The filter cassette is specified by the standard. The inlet hasa 10-micrometer cutpoint that provides wind speed and direction independent sampling to remove particles larger than 10 micrometers. • The connecting tubing is a 12-inch (30.5 cm) length anodized aluminum tubing with a precisely specified inner diameter and surface finish. Features • Flexible and user friendly software guides you through system setup, event programming, calibration, and maintenance • Flexible calibration of temperature sensors using either a thermocouple calibrator or submersion bath. • Stores over 16 days of 5-minute interval average data. • User settable interval for log data. • Stores up to 50 sample event summaries. • Multi-point calibration of all sensors for greater accuracy. • DataLink downloads all pertinent information from the field without cumbersome palmtops PC's or laptops. Types of Samplers: Single Channel Sampler (RAAS2.5-100):(US EPA Designation Number: RFPS-0598-119) Gravimetric filter-based with a single channel flow device (from inlet to filter) that produces a 24-hour concentration. This sampler will be used for the routine monitoring in the SLAMS network, or any fence line monitoring program. Sequential Sampler (RAAS2.5-300):(US EPA Designation Number RFPS-0598-120) Gravimetric filter-based with either a single channel flow device that produces a 24-hour concentration, and can automatically set up for another 24-hour sample without operator assistance. Portable Audit Sampler (RAAS2.5-200):(US EPA Designation Number RFPS-0299-128) Gravimetric filter-based with a single channel flow device that produces a 24-hour concentration. This sampler is designed to be transportable and capable of frequent sampling, and will be used to fulfill the requirement in the independent audit program. Speciation Sampler (RAAS2.5-400):Gravimetric filter-based with four to six filter modules to capture specific PM2.5 particles to be used for speciation analysis and identification of those particles. The requirements for this sampler are multiple filters, the capability to produce 24-hour samples and a PM2.5 cut-point. Completely modular and can be set up in any configuration as long as not outside the maximum flow range. Specifications
