TerminalWord® is an application designed as a revolutionary tool for custom report generation. It is destined to company personnel involved in the generation of audit and statistical analysis reports and/or the end-user wishing to query data and create reports without the need for prolonged training sessions.
The application runs on Microsoft Word®, a tool used by 90% of existing PCs for the creation of all sorts of written documents.

Working

TerminalWord® works connecting to the server or the pc with TerminalWEB® to manage TWO objects (TerminalWebObjects).

The TWO are actually of three classes:

• Images (graphics, satellite images, logos)
• Tables (data, reports)
• Text (quantities, descriptions, notes)

Operation

The first that the user must do is earn access through user name and password given by the TerminalWEB administrator.
Must enter Station, Campaign, Point, Cycle and date range From-To, parameters which is going to make the reports.
The Station input and date range From-To are mandatary. Deploying the date window it shoes the calendar. To select month and year just pick in each one of this options inside the calendar.
The Capaign, Point and Cycle input are optional. It means if the user skips Cycle value, will be operating with all Point cycles. In the same way, if the user skips Point value, will be operating with all Capaign points, and skipping the Campaign allows the access to all Station campaigns.

TW
According to the Level of Access allowed to the user, he may or may not be able to select different stations and campaigns. The different Access Levels are described in the TerminalWEB manual. If the user does not have the log-in data yet, he may log in using the term demo as user name and password, provided the TerminalWEB administrator has not disabled the DEMO database.
Once the user has logged in, he may select the type of function to be used.
TerminalWord® has three main functions which allow for the generation of reports from three different standpoints.

• Insert Objects from Server
• Insert Object Labels
• Replace Labels in an Existing Template

Insert Objects from Server

TW
This is the direct report creation tool. By selecting this option, the user inserts TWO objects from the TerminalWEB Server directly into the document.
For inserting a chart, select the type of chart -and the instruments, if so required by the chart-, place the cursor anywhere in the document where you want the chart to be inserted, and click Add. The chart will be automatically inserted into the document.

The document will show something like the following example:

The same sequence applies to the insertion of tables, reports and text into the document.

The sequence por Objects insertion is:

Insert Object Labels

The direct report creation function explained under Insert Objects from Server is useful for writing a single report.
When it is necessary to create and deliver reports periodically, such as on a weekly, monthly or daily basis, the whole potential of TerminalWord comes forward.
In this case, an “intelligent template” will be created by inserting object labels that will then be replaced by the objects themselves, e.g. different date ranges.
Labels for Charts, Images, Logos, Tables and Reports and/or Text may be inserted by selecting the desired type of label with the Next button. For inserting a chart label, select the type of chart -and the instruments, if so required by the chart-, place the cursor anywhere in the document where you want the future chart to be inserted and click Add.

The document will show something like the following example:

%TW|imgChart_i|NO,NO2,NOx%

The same sequence applies to the insertion of table, report and text labels into the document.
Once you have finished inserting the labels, save the document as a template by naming it “ABC Campaign Template.doc” or using the .dot extension for Word document templates.
This will allow the user to create reports with only three or four clicks of the mouse for different Dates, Stations or Campaigns, using the previously created template as a basis for the report through the Replace Labels in an Existing Template function.

The sequence for objects lables insertion is:

Replace Labels in an Existing Template

This function is used for replacing labels in existing report templates and creating a final report according to the selected Station, Campaign, Point, Cycle and From-To date range.
As example, when you need to generate Frebruary report, open ‘Campaign Template ABC.doc’, run TerminalWord, select date range from February 1 to 28 and select Replace Labels from one existant Template.
Once the objects has been replaced, save the document as ‘February Campaign Report ABC.doc’. The template created before always has the same labels, and in base of it the user can generate reports as wish for different dates, stations, campaigns, points or cylces.
